Our History

After witnessing the suffering and untimely death of friends and loved ones in his community, Pastor Leonard Ervin Jr., embarked upon a personal journey of optimal physical, mental, and spiritual health.  Together with his integral, supportive health partners, Bridgette Sanders, Michelle Hobbs, and Joyce Greenwood they ALL achieved success.  Seeing their individual triumphs, won by sticking together, furthered his desire to offer the fruits of his journey as a solution to other people.

In March 2020, The Lord gave, Pastor Ervin, a vision that answered the calling on his life: To build a Community Development Center to be a multicultural, world-wide sanctuary for the family structure. Thus, The Community of Wellness (COW) was established as a non-profit organization for Community Wellbeing. The foundational pillars of Physical Health, Mental Health, and Spiritual Health, that Pastor Ervin began his journey with, were expanded to include two more key pillars: Financial Literacy and Social Awareness, for a total of 5 Pillars of Influence.

In September 2021, God added the increase to the spiritual foundation and established the Community of Wellness International Assemblies (COWIA), an e-church where a holistic encounter with Jesus Christ promotes salvation, healing, and deliverance. The COWIA Launch Leadership Team was made up of five faithful servants of God and forerunners of the vision: Minister BeLynda Harvey, Minister Juan Turnbo, Minister Jamie Sanders, Elder Howard Hammond, and Pastor Leonard Ervin, Jr.

By combining a Community Development Center with a Church, we seek to provide a bridge in the gap between the church and the community. We will accomplish our mandate by creating an atmosphere of experiential encounters with Jesus Christ, providing teaching on biblical truths with real-world application, and delivering tangible, holistic solutions to the individual, family, and world community.
